'A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall'

Great words by a great poet, Bob Dylan..This song reminds me so much of things my dad had told me, or things he would have layed on me in the future if he was still around..The tears are always close by when I sit and listen to this one..

The one line though that seems to ring the most true for me is near the end when he proclaims: "But I'll know my song well before I start singin" It makes me wonder if I myself have hurried things, such as art pieces before I have dialed in what my initial aims may have been..Working on and perfecting a style in the dark is a hard trial, one which most of us don't see the importance in, instead we opt to show off our work, sometimes pre-maturely. I am as guilty as anyone to boasting before I really ought to have, but im perplexed as well because if you put yourself into something you create, getting it out there only helps in life, in moving past singular activities, and promotes the sharing of ideas and stories with people out there.. It's a struggle, but one I want to dwell in...

Six months ago today I was setting up for an art show out in Portland, the days before and after (aug.29-sept.18) spent driving across the country from Orlando, Florida, to Portland, Oregon and back..Quite an excellent adventure. It's hard to believe it was that long ago, sometimes looking back and thinking did the whole trip actually happen? Did we really do that?

Found this token today @ the bottom of a bag..Gas Station Bathroom Tokens..Green River, Wyoming if I remember right... gotta buy something to use the John... hehehe

I read a certain blog everyday from a designer out of Oregon, Aaron Draplin; He always has great links, and interesting stories from his own side of things..But, anyways he is traveling @ the moment through Montana, and I couldn't help but remember the time I just spent there back in September with my special lady friend, quite a rad place,and most definitely in need of visit number 2. Great morning, alone, rummaging through my own amassed archives. Painting, creating, destroying, wandering around my art space in a nice mood. Monk on the stereo, great weather, no responsibilites for the day, allowed to exist in my own pace..Have been promising my grandfather I would get this picture up on the internet one day, and since I just came across it again @ the bottom of a random box, thought it was as good a time as any to get it up here. Don't want to expose anyone too long to my mangled rambling, and complaining. It won't help any of you and truthfully doesn't accomplish much for me..Just forget those bad days (ex:yesterday) and move on, ignore the urges to act like the rest of the populous, intent on using and molesting each thing around them to further their own existence. Courtesy is deceased. Ah, well no use in getting caught up on it too long, some problems are much, much larger than anything I could control, or change. Keepin the head up!!

Speaking of the word rant, Chuck Palahniuk has a new novel coming out May 1st entitled 'Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey'

Recently picked these up again, and fell for them again..i remember these from '99-00, and each time they get better and better. Sucks that it only ran for 18 episodes. These really need to be checked out by anyone who didn't get a chance to see them back then or since. Try Netflix, or do a search on You Tube there are full episodes on there split into seperate parts..

Going to try and keep this attempt at a blog going, in contrast to past failures.. Basically due to my php patience and skills, or lack there of, i have to go with these template style do it for you's..this one unlike previous pages allows for quite a clean style, and gives me the chance to really cut down on the flair..i think im kinda stoked on it thus far..b-
